Once upon a time, there was a bunny named Luna.
Luna was a beautiful bunny, and she lived in a large bunny town buried deep within the forest. The forest was full of beautiful flowers and towering trees. Luna and her family were the only bunnies with white fur. Many other bunnies were jealous of Luna’s color and her perfect bunny ears, eyes, and nose.
However, Luna didn’t think she was a beautiful bunny and often complained about her appearance. When she looked at herself in the mirror, she saw an abundance of bunny fur and floppy ears that didn’t stand straight up. She didn’t think she looked normal, like the other bunnies in her town. She often told this to the other bunnies, and they would all reassure her that she truly was a flawless bunny.
One day, Luna was hopping around the forest when she noticed a stream beside her. She stopped by the stream and saw her reflection. She sighed and wished she could have a different fur color. She didn’t see herself as different and unique. Instead, she saw herself as strange and unattractive. She wanted to be tan like most of the other bunnies who lived in her town. She then decided that she would do everything in her power to change her appearance.
As Luna finished her hop, she constantly thought about how she could change. She had already cut down on the amount of carrots and lettuce she ate, even though her mother asked her to keep eating more. She also extended her hopping time by an additional 30 minutes to lose some more of her bunny fluff. But she was still not satisfied with her results. So she decided she would dye her white fur in hopes of turning it into a brown color. Luna believed this would solve all her problems. She thought that if she dyed her fur, she would be more like the other bunnies who lived in her town.
Luna went down to the local Bunny Salon to talk to a stylist named Susanne. When Luna told Susanne about her plans, Susanne advised her against it. She told her that bunnies with white fur were rare. Susanne also explained to Luna that often when white fur is dyed, it gets damaged. Luna didn’t believe Susanne. When Luna left Susanne’s shop, she decided not to take Susanne’s advice. She would try to dye her fur herself.
Luna stopped by the local bunny herb shop and picked up a box of fur dye and went home to dye her fur. She dyed her fur with the brown color and washed the fur afterward as per the instructions. Luna quickly hopped over to the mirror to see the result. When Luna looked in the mirror, she screamed; instead of brown fur, it was now purple.
Luna quickly hopped down to Susanne’s shop only to discover that Susanne couldn’t help her. Susanne explained that Luna’s fur couldn’t be dyed back to white. The only thing Luna could do was wait until her fur grew out. Susanne could then trim the purple color out of Luna’s fur. This was the only way Susanne could repair Luna’s fur.
Luna now had to wait for her fur to grow out until the day Susanne could trim it. At first, she hid in her room, embarrassed by how she looked. But eventually, she got the courage to go outside and face the other bunnies.
She learned that no one cared about how she looked. Even though her fur was purple, her friends still talked to her and treated her exactly the same. They even commented on her fur and how they thought it was cool and special.
Luna waited five months until she could trim the purple color out of her fur. When the color was out, Luna never tried to dye her fur again. Instead, she began to accept who she was. She quickly realized that she had no flaws, and she was just like all the other bunnies in her town.
