Once upon a time, there were two very good friends named Lily and Emma. The world they lived in had been attacked by many zombies. They were everywhere. Emma and Lily ran into their treehouse and hid there for several months. After a while, they thought, why not just go out and see how the world is now, maybe it has changed.
Both of them stepped out of the treehouse and saw many zombies, and everything was burnt down. “Wow, we really missed the world outside the treehouse! But everything is burnt down!” said Emma.
“Yeah… should we look around? We have to be really careful while we walk around because there are so many zombies! We don’t want to become zombie food!” said Lily.
“Yes, let’s do it! I’ll go down first, then you follow behind me,” said Emma. They both slowly climbed down the treehouse ladder.
“Wow! It’s really empty out here! I wonder if we’re the last people in this world!” said Lily.
“Let’s find out! Let’s take a look around!” said Emma.
“I don’t see anyone at all! It actually feels like we are the last people here!” said Lily.
“Yes! There’s no one here! I’ll go into all the shops, and Lily, you check all the restaurants!” said Emma.
“I’m so hungry!” said Lily.
“Come on! Don’t eat anything there! You never know, it could be poisoned!” said Emma.
“No, no, I won’t!” said Lily.
“Okay! Let’s start now! Call me if you find anything!” said Emma.
They both calmly went out to explore how their world looked now. Lily went into a restaurant. All she could see was food on the walls, floor, and ceiling! Suddenly, she heard a sound!
“Ouch! Ouch!” said the sound.
Lily slowly approached the sound and saw a giant caterpillar on the ground. “Are you okay?” she asked politely.
“Not really… One of the zombies bit me, and it hurts a lot! I thought this would be a safe place to come and relax,” said the giant caterpillar.
“Oh! That’s terrible! I have some medicine in my bag! Do you mind if I put it on you?” Lily asked.
“No, of course not! Thank you so much!” said the giant caterpillar. Lily took out some cream and gently applied it to the caterpillar’s body.
“It feels much better now! Thank you so much! What’s your name?” asked the giant caterpillar. “Oh, no problem! My name is Lily!” said Lily. “I have to go now! I’m glad I could help you! Goodbye!” Lily said as she left.
Emma went into one of the furniture shops. All the sofas and tables were broken. “This place is such a huge mess!” said Emma to herself.
“Yeah, it really is,” said a strange voice.
“Oh… Who’s here? Who was that?” said Emma.
It was a giant robot being controlled by a zombie! “Wow! I’ve never seen anything so cool in my life!” said Emma, who wasn’t even scared. The robot started to destroy everything! “Okay! Now I’m scared!” said Emma. She ran around the shop, and the robot kept following her.
“Boo!” said the strange robot. But! The person controlling the robot was actually just Lily, playing a prank on Emma! “Hahaha, got you!” said Lily. “Oh my gosh! Lily! I got so scared! This wasn’t the right time to prank me!” said Emma.
“Wait! Emma! Look! It’s some kind of radio! What if we can talk to other people from here?” said Lily.
“Wow! What is it?” said Emma. Lily picked it up and heard someone talking. But the voice was crackling, so they couldn’t hear them properly. “Hello? Is anyone there?” said Emma. Both of them really wanted to meet someone. They felt very lonely being all alone. They knew they wouldn’t be able to communicate with the person on the radio, so they left again. Lily looked back and took the radio with her. She knew that at least one day, they would be able to communicate with them.
After a few weeks, they heard someone say, “Come to the nearest river you can find! I’ll be there! Come quickly!”
“Emma! Emma! Someone just told us to go to the nearest river we can find! It was from the radio! We could find new friends!” said Lily.
“OMG! Let’s go quickly!” said Emma. Both ran to the nearest river from their treehouse.
“Hello? Is anyone here?” said a voice.
“Did you hear that?” asked Emma.
“Yeah! I did! Let’s answer!” said Lily.
“Yes? Hello! We’re here! From the radio!” said Lily.
A person walked up to them. They couldn’t believe who it was! It was one of their very old friends from school! “Jasmine! What are you doing here?” asked Emma. “Emma? Lily? It’s been so long! I’ve been living at our school for the last year not knowing if anyone else would be alive! I found this radio, so I decided to bring it!” said Jasmine (their old friend).
“Wow!” said Lily. “At least we have company now! Jasmine, why don’t you come live with us in our treehouse!” said Emma. “Wow, thanks! Sure!” said Jasmine. They all moved in together and had a lot of fun! They even made friends with some zombies!
