Once upon a time, there was a princess named Selina who lived in the beautiful kingdom of Lirien. Selina was known for her warm laughter that sounded like little bells in the wind, and for her long dark hair that shimmered like the night sky. Selina loved adventures, but there was one problem: she was never allowed to leave the castle walls, as her parents feared for her safety.
Meanwhile, far away in a small town at the edge of a great forest, there was a young knight named Theo. Theo was not like the other knights. He was more famous for his clumsy antics and for tripping over his own feet than for his sword skills. But he had a kind heart and an unbreakable belief that every day held a new adventure.
One day, Theo was summoned to the king’s court. “Sir Theo,” the king said, raising an eyebrow, “our princess is bored out of her mind, and we need someone to entertain her. But remember—do it with style.” Theo nodded eagerly. “I’ll entertain the princess, Your Majesty! With or without style.”
When Theo arrived at the castle, he immediately bumped his head on a chandelier and lost his hat in a fountain. The guards watched in disbelief, but Princess Selina, who was watching from her window, laughed out loud. “He looks like a walking disaster!” she told her lady-in-waiting.
But that was exactly what made Theo different. Instead of trying to impress Selina with long speeches and perfect manners, he did a clumsy pirouette and bowed so deeply that he fell straight into a flowerbed. Selina covered her mouth, but she couldn’t stop laughing.
Theo leaned forward and handed her a small flower from the garden. “Your laughter is the most beautiful melody I’ve ever heard. I’ll treasure it in my heart forever.”
The days passed, and Theo showed Selina the small magical joys of life: dancing in the rain, catching fireflies at night, and making up silly stories about dragons that only ate pancakes. In return, Selina showed him secret corners of the castle that no one else knew about. Their friendship soon blossomed into something deeper.
One evening, Theo gathered his courage. “Princess Selina, would you sneak out of the castle with me tonight to see the legendary star shower in the forest?” Selina hesitated, but her sense of adventure took over. “I’ll say yes, but only if you promise to bring a pillow for when you fall again,” she teased.
Under a sky full of shimmering stars, they found a clearing surrounded by glowing fireflies. Selina turned to Theo with a smile. “Why is it that you never try to be perfect like all the other knights?” Theo shrugged. “Perfect is boring. I’d rather be myself—especially if it makes you happy.”
Selina took his hand, and they stood there in silence under the stars, their hearts beating in time. Theo bent down and whispered, “I think… I’m in love with you.” Selina squeezed his hand and whispered back, “I know I love you.”
That night was the beginning of an adventure that would never end. Theo never became a perfect knight, but he became the princess’s knight—the most important title of all.
And every year, during the star shower, they returned to the clearing in the forest, filling their lives with laughter and love, just as they had on that first night.
