On an island far, far away lived an angry troll. This troll had been stranded on this island for many years after his famous troll pirate ship hit the reef near the island while he was hunting for gold.
The troll was very angry, for instead of gold, all he found were lumps of coal. He searched the island left and right, but all he could find were enormous pieces of coal. He used the coal to make fire so he could have something to eat and keep warm on the island.
As the days and nights went by, the troll became more and more sad because he felt he would never get off the island. He tried in every way to find enough wood to repair his ship, but never found enough. So one day, he just gave up and decided that his new home would be a cave in the middle of the island, and he forgot his dreams of being rich and leaving the island.
Many years passed until one day a ship with a crew of 40 men stumbled upon this lonely island, which seemed uninhabitable to them. When they landed, they noticed the remnants of someone who had once lived there. They found a lot of used coal as well as coal that had been neatly stacked as if someone had left it. They sent half the crew out to search the island for the person.
When the men reached the center of the island, they noticed a dark cave that seemed to have paths leading in and out of it. So they went to explore the cave.
Suddenly, they heard a great rumbling coming from the cave’s depths. The men were so frightened by what they heard that they all ran back to the ship to warn the captain about what had happened.
Meanwhile, the other group of the crew was busy digging for treasures on the island. Suddenly, they dug up the biggest diamond they had ever seen. But it wasn’t just the one diamond; there were hundreds of other diamonds the more they dug.
When the captain heard the news about the strange sounds, he ordered all his men to take what they could of the diamonds and prepare to leave what they believed was a cursed island. The ship was filled with precious diamonds. The captain ordered all the men onto the ship to sail away. Just as everyone was almost aboard, the trees began to move, and out came the angry troll – he was very angry!
Not only had they disturbed the troll in his home, but they also took all the diamonds the island had, which the troll was unaware of. The troll said, “These treasures are mine, and if I can’t have them, no one shall!” The troll lit a stick of dynamite, which he had found in the ship’s hull, and blew it to pieces. Every man perished that day.
It is said that the troll and the diamonds still remain on the island’s shores to this day. If anyone finds this island, there are apparently diamond beaches, and they will surely become wealthy. It is also said that the troll actually still lives on the island and is building his ship. One day, he might very well finish repairing his ship and sail away from the island with all his wealth aboard.
