Once upon a time, there was a prince. The prince loved all kinds of different things and liked to do things a little differently. One day, he decided to train some wild monkeys. So, three monkeys were found for him and they were brought to his palace. Then, the prince began to train them.

He trained them, among other things, in how to dance, and the monkeys quickly became excellent dancers.

As time went on, the prince dressed them in royal clothes in all sorts of beautiful colors, and they also got hats and masks. Every evening, the monkeys danced to music at the castle.

The news of the dancing monkeys quickly spread throughout the country, and people traveled from all parts of the country just to see the dancing monkeys. Every evening when the monkeys danced, the palace filled up with men, women, and children who cheered and were so amazed at how well the monkeys could dance.

However, there was a courtier at the palace who was extremely jealous of the monkeys. “Everyone loves the monkeys, but no one notices me,” he thought. This courtier had been the royal jester before the monkeys came, and his fame had also spread throughout the country. So, out of sheer jealousy, this courtier decided to do something wicked.

One evening, as the monkeys were dancing as beautifully as ever, he threw a handful of nuts onto the stage, hoping it would put an end to the dancing monkeys so he could get his old job as a jester back. But it turned out quite differently…

The monkeys did slip on the nuts, but the dance that came from the monkeys had gone from beautiful to funny. They slipped around in the nuts and flailed their arms and legs, and the whole hall roared with laughter. Now the monkeys became even more popular and the rumors about the dancing monkeys spread beyond the country’s borders.

The courtier became even more jealous and angry that his plan had not worked. He decided to leave the palace and find another job.

The monkeys, on the other hand, lived the rest of their lives at the palace and enjoyed their dancing, which they constantly developed. They had a really good life, and all the monkey food they could wish for.
