The Girl Who Tried to Fly

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Luna. She was 7 years old. She was always practicing how to fly. She tried jumping off a chair. Thud! Her mother Tina came running in.

“Are you okay?” her mother asked.

“Yes,” said Luna, but Luna didn’t give up. She jumped off everything that was high, but one evening while practicing, it got very late, so she decided to go to bed. That night, she woke up as she was jumping up and down on her bed, and finally, she flew!

The next morning, Luna had to go to school. She had math class, and her math teacher Kirsten was explaining some very difficult problems.

Suddenly, the fire alarm went off, ringing loudly throughout the school.

“Oh no!” said Luna. “There’s a fire!”

She went out into the hallway and heard a sound.

“Help!”

Luna flew into the classroom where the voice came from. It was Karla.

“Grab hold,” Luna said.

Luna saved Karla’s life, and when she went home to tell her mom her story, she had become famous.

She was on TV, and Luna and Karla became best friends. They played together a lot after that.
