In the heart of a quiet, starry forest lived a small dragon named Luna. She wasn’t like other dragons who breathed fire or hoarded treasure. Luna had shimmering blue scales that glowed softly like moonlight, and instead of fire, she breathed out puffs of silver stardust. Her favorite thing in the world was bringing sweet dreams to anyone who needed them.
Each night, as the forest animals settled into their cozy dens, Luna would flutter her wings and fly through the sky, scattering her stardust. The sparkles would float gently down, filling the night with peaceful dreams.
But one evening, as Luna flew past a clearing, she noticed a young fox sitting alone under a tree, wide awake. His ears drooped, and his eyes were sad. Luna landed softly beside him.
“Hello,” she said in her gentle voice. “Why aren’t you asleep?”
The fox sniffled. “I keep having bad dreams,” he whispered. “Whenever I close my eyes, I see shadows chasing me.”
Luna’s heart ached for the little fox. She sat beside him, her wings wrapping around him like a warm hug.
“Would you like me to show you how to dream of stars instead?” she asked with a soft smile.
The fox nodded shyly.
Luna took a deep breath and blew a shimmering puff of stardust into the air. The silver sparkles swirled and danced, forming glowing constellations above them.
“Close your eyes,” Luna said. “Picture yourself in a place where you feel safe and happy.”
The fox closed his eyes, and Luna’s magic filled the clearing with warmth.
“Where are you?” Luna asked.
“I’m running through a field of glowing flowers,” the fox murmured. “There are no shadows—just stars.”
Luna smiled as she watched the fox’s breathing slow. His worries faded, and he drifted off into a peaceful sleep right there under the tree.
With a soft hum, Luna gently lifted the fox onto a bed of soft moss and tucked a leaf blanket over him.
“Sweet dreams,” she whispered, her wings glimmering in the moonlight.
That night, Luna spread her stardust farther than ever before, filling the forest with peace and comfort. The owls hooted softly in their dreams, the rabbits snuggled closer in their burrows, and even the tall trees seemed to sigh contentedly.
And from that night on, the fox was never afraid of shadows again. He always felt Luna’s stardust watching over him, like a lullaby from the stars.
And as for Luna? She became known as the Dream Dragon, the little guardian of the night who brought light to the darkest dreams and reminded everyone that even the smallest dragon could make the biggest difference.
