Lucas and Sofia, two curious siblings, once found an old clock in their grandfather’s attic. It didn’t look like a normal clock. Around the face were different years, and the hands moved in a strange rhythm, as if they had a mind of their own.

On New Year’s Eve, while their parents were preparing for the celebration downstairs, the two children sat in Lucas’ room and examined the clock. Sofia, the younger one, couldn’t stop touching the little engraved numbers. “Imagine if this clock could take us back in time,” she whispered.

Lucas shrugged and smiled. “And where would we even go? What time would you pick?”

Sofia studied the clock for a moment, then pointed to the year 1923. “New Year’s Eve a hundred years ago. I’d love to see what that was like.”

Right then, the clock flickered to life. The glow grew brighter and brighter until everything around them started to swirl. When they opened their eyes again, they were standing in the middle of a busy street filled with people in fancy clothes, jazz music, and decorations everywhere.

They had travelled to New Year’s Eve in 1923.

Lucas and Sofia looked around in amazement. Everything was so different, yet exciting. They saw adults dancing the Charleston and children playing with wooden toys. They even had the chance to taste some of the treats people enjoyed back then.

But as midnight drew near, they knew they had to go home. Sofia placed her hand on the clock once more, and instantly they were pulled away from the street and back into Lucas’ room – at the exact moment their parents began counting down to the new year.

They eagerly told their parents about the trip, but at first, the adults thought it was just a game. However, when Lucas showed them how the clock’s hands moved in impossible ways, the parents weren’t so sure anymore.

That night, Lucas and Sofia learned that time isn’t only about seconds and minutes – it’s also about the moments you experience. They put the clock somewhere safe, just in case it would one day take them on another adventure.

And as they wished each other a Happy New Year, they knew that time still had many stories waiting for them.
