The Hidden Treasure

Once upon a time, there was an old man who had four sons. All four of them were very lazy.

One day, the old man fell ill and spent his last days bedridden. He was deeply worried about his sons’ future, as the young men were reluctant to work. They believed that luck would favor them without any effort.

As the old man’s health deteriorated with each passing day, he decided to talk to his sons about their future. However, his sons didn’t listen to him.

Finally, the old man decided to trick his sons into realizing the importance of hard work. He called all his sons to sit by his bedside and told them that he had a chest of treasure filled with gold coins and precious gems, which he would divide equally among them.

The young men were overjoyed and eagerly asked where their father had hidden the treasure. The old man replied, “I can’t quite remember where I buried the treasure. However, the chest is buried somewhere in our land.”

Though the lazy sons were excited, they were also disappointed that their father had forgotten the exact location of the treasure. A few days later, their father passed away. The sons decided to dig up the land to find the treasure chest.

They worked very hard, digging and digging, but couldn’t find any treasure chest on the land. Finally, they decided to dig in a part of their land that seemed a bit different from the rest of the area. The sons believed the treasure was buried there. They dug deeper and deeper but found nothing but water.

A passerby noticed the dug-up land and the water flowing from the spot. He spoke to the sons about farming. Following his advice, the four sons planted vegetable seeds and grew greens and plants on their land. As the land was very fertile with plenty of water, it soon became a thriving garden full of nutritious vegetables. The four sons sold the vegetables at a good price and earned a substantial amount of money.

Then they realized that the hard work their father had spoken of was the real “treasure chest.” Gradually, the four sons overcame their laziness, worked hard, earned more money, and lived happily ever after.

Moral: Hard work always pays off.
