The sheep was in a bad mood. The friends on the farm tried to cheer it up, but nothing helped. The sheep felt as though it had a grumpy bear in its belly – and the bear wanted to get out.
“I have an idea,” said the horse, who was very wise and knew a lot about that sort of thing. “Try doing some hard work.”
“How would that possibly help?” grumbled the sheep. But no one could think of anything better, so the sheep decided to give it a try.
It collected eggs from the hens, carried hay bales to the horses, and rode in the tractor with the farmer.
The sheep worked so hard that it began to forget its bad mood. And when it was bedtime, and all the tired farm animals settled down in the barn, the horse noticed that the sheep had a smile on its face.
“Is it gone?” asked the horse.
“Is what gone?” yawned the sheep.
“Your bad mood,” said the horse with a loud neigh. But there was no reply. The sheep had already fallen fast asleep!
